PJ Podium

Team XODust has clinched a promotion spot to Division 3 for the 2010 season of My-NPL via podium placing during the 5th and Final leg of the 2009 My-NPL season. Placing 2nd Runners-Up in Division 4 ends Team XODust season in a high as all their previous podium attempts were struck down in the Quarter-Finals.

Team XODust finished the preliminary round on the first day with an unprecedented unbeaten run, topping the Division standings. This sets them up for a Sweet 16 round with the 16th placed team Ethos on the second day.

Day Two's matches started of with another straight win against Team Ethos, putting them in the Quarter-Finals against team Reaperz who shocked the Division by beating serial podiumists Team Yin Yang in the Sweet 16 round.

The match against Reaperz also went on as a straight set win, taking Team XODust's PJ adventure on a 10 game winning streak and also a guaranteed podium spot for the round. Next up in the Semi-Finals, Team Jackals stands in the way of a 1st and 2nd placing bout.

Team XODust started the match with a win, putting pressure on the Jackals. However this was to be the end of the winning streak as Jackals pulled back a point by winning the second game ensuring a final rubber set to be played. Team XODust lost the final game, relegated to playing the 3rd-4th placing match against Team Karma from Singapore, while Jackals went on to play Shoot in Rage for the 1st and 2nd placing match.

The team re-strategised for the match against Team Karma, opting to play a defensive instead of the usual ultra-offensive stance that was the name of the game throughout the tournament. This proved to be the boon for the team as Team Karma pushed hard for wins but was caught in defensive cover fire. This stretched on towards the second game as Team XODust held hard, winning the match sending all players into a frenzy from a podium finish long sought.

Melaka Mayhem - My-NPL Round 4

Team XODust continues their My-NPL journey with a trip down south to the historical city of Melaka on the 1st and 2nd of August. As with the previous My-NPL outings, XODust managed to advance to the final 16 round on Sunday.

Team XODust won their final 16 match against a spirited Reaperz team, beating them 2-0 of a best of 3 bout. However, for the quarter-finals game, due to sub-standard preliminary placing, XODust was put up against team Yin Yang who won all their preliminary games and topped the standings.

XODust lost the first game, bouncing back to win the second game to set up a 3rd game to justify which team deserves a podium place. Alas it was all in vain, as Yin Yang held hard to win the match, sending XODust reeling home on the fringe of a podium finish yet again.

This will be the final tournament outing for XODust until after Hari Raya. We hope to bounce back fighting with all we have to cement our automatic promotion to Division 3 via podium placing on the last leg of My-NPL.

GAME ON!

Kuantan Calling - My-NPL Round 3

Team XODust arrived in Kuantan for the 3rd round on the 20th and 21st of June with high hopes after placing 4th in the ISSC '09. The game time put in at the MPOC the previous week was deemed perfect to provide familiarity to our newest recruit Enzo Mokhtar to give his best in his My-NPL bow.

However XODust didn't do to well too replicate their good form found during the International Super Sevens Championship. Placing barely enough to advance to the last 16 round on Sunday, XODust ran out of steam and bowed out of the tournament after losing out to BMPB Espada with a Win-Draw-Draw score.

Crestfallen and disappointed, XODust returns to Kuala Lumpur vowing to place better during the preliminaries to achieve better seeding opportunities and fight for another podium place.

MPOC 4 - XODust in action

Team XODust has participated in the 4th Leg of the Malaysian Paintball Official Circuit at Xtion Paintball in Bukit Jalil, placing 6th out of 12 Division 4 teams in contention, winning 5 out of 10 games of the preliminary round.

This was the first time that XODust has ever played in the MPOC, with unfamiliar field setting and size. However we took it all in as an experience to better our game in the future.

We would like to thank Paul Lam and his crew over at the MPOC camp for giving us the opportunity to have a taste of an almost flawless event.

XODust in MPOC4

Team XODust has confirmed participation for the 4th Leg of the Malaysian Paintball Official Circuit to be held at Xtion Paintball Park, Bukit Jalil on the 13th-14th of June 2009.

This is in line with the goal of Team XODust to participate in as many tournaments as possible, and we hope to learn as much as we can, away from the familiarity of our home ground.

Podium placing, finally!

Team XODust has achieved the coveted podium placing as the 3rd runner up in the Young Guns division at the recently concluded International Super Sevens Championship 2009 in Petaling Jaya.

Placing 1st out of 10 teams during the preliminary round of the first day, Team XODust drew Team Evo Hunter for the 1st-8th placing game in the Quarter-Finals, winning their games 2-0 to face the winner of the 2nd-7th placing bout, Feva Division, in the Semi-Finals.

In game one, Team XODust lost bodies quickly off the break, and as much as they tried to hold on for a draw, Feva Division was swift in making their moves and won the round.

Game two saw both teams losing all players resulting in a 5-5 draw.

Game three was set out as the most offensive tactic ever made in a game by Team XODust. Abandoning usual tactics, they spread out well to kill the game by winning 5-0, resulting in a Lose-Draw-Win situation, requiring a One-On-One round to decide the match.

Along Fadzil agreed to play the One-On-One against the Feva Division's picked player. After advancing rapidly towards the opponent's stand-off on their Center-Can, a snap-shooting fight followed and Fadzil was shot out by the slightest graze of paint on the left arm.

While Feva Division went on to the Finals to face Destructo, Team XODust was drawn to play JS in the 3rd-4th placing game on Field 1 for the first time. Lack of experience and knowledge of the field proved to be the downfall, as Team XODust fell against their rivals 2-0. Meanwhile Destructo beat Feva Division in the Finals.

Full tournament results are as follows:

Open Division - 13 Teams
1 - NEMESIS LEGION
2 - DEMONZ XTIONEER
3 - DELTAROVERS
4 - RAZ LEGION

Amature Division (AM) - 14 Teams

2 - NOMERCY
3 - SUNSHIRO

Novice Division (NOV) - (5 man) - 7 Teams

3 - D’HALLOWEEN
4 - ROMEOZ SHOCKWAVE

Young Gun Division (YG) - (5 man) - 10 Teams

3 - JS MIXOR
4 - XODUST

XODust would like to thank our coaches, Kay Mikazie and Juan Ridzual for their tireless training and advice shared. We hope to build on this achievement and continue on bettering ourselves to advance in the sport that we love.
